Lastly, Street Fighter Alpha 2 is a port of the 1996 title, which is actually set before the events of the Street Fighter II titles. Hawk, Fei Long, and Dee Jay joined the fray, while the game improved on the earlier titles with a new scoring system, improved animation, new music, and more powerful moves for several of the fighters. Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers followed in 1993, introducing four new characters to the roster. Most notably, the game plays faster than its predecessors, requiring more precision and pinpoint timing to land moves. It allowed players to battle as all 12 characters, with new moves for most of them and new colour palettes for all. Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting was originally released in Japanese arcades in 1992, the final update to the original Street Fighter II. ![]() ![]() Despite the similarity in the names, these are all very different entries in the franchise.
